Liquid chlorine
Cl2 · CAS 7782-50-5
PVC, disinfection, pharmaceutical raw material
Chlorine is supplied liquefied under pressure: once the pressure is released it turns into a gas phase many times larger in volume than the liquid. It is a base raw material for chlorine-based organic synthesis, including PVC production, and is also used in water treatment and pharmaceutical manufacturing. H330 - Fatal if inhaled, so the work is allowed only at properly equipped sites and with respiratory protection. A highly toxic gas and a dangerous good: supply is agreed with a manager.

Used with equipment
-
BM RSI C1009
Why: Chlorination in an aggressive medium without reactor corrosion
-
Microbubble Mixer
Why: Gas chlorination: microbubbles increase Cl₂ utilization
-
DLSB Series
Why: Chlorination is exothermic; large volumes need powerful heat removal
-
ZTM / VRE systems
Why: Chlorination in a jacketed reactor with precise temperature control
-
BT Series
Why: Captures residual chlorine (−40…−80 °C)
Turnkey solutions: BM RSI C1009 silicon carbide reactor, Microbubble Mixer, DLSB series low-temperature chillers, ZT/ZTM and ZTM-Ex dynamic temperature control systems, BT series water and gas traps
