Sodium carbonate decahydrate
Na2CO3·10H2O · CAS 6132-02-1
Glass, detergents
Sodium carbonate decahydrate (Na2CO3·10H2O), washing soda, differs from anhydrous soda ash in that it contains water of crystallization: it dissolves readily and gives an alkaline solution. That alkalinity is what its use in detergent formulations relies on, while sodium carbonate itself remains one of the main components of the glass batch. H319 - Causes serious eye irritation; eye protection is required when handling it. The item is supplied to legal entities after verification, with the manufacturer's certificate of analysis for the batch.
